How Do I Qualify For A Pell Grant?

The purpose of Pell Grants was to help people in financial need to pay for college. If you are an undergraduate student or a vocational student enrolled or accepted for enrollment in participating school, you may qualify for a Pell Grant.

Before you can find out whether you are qualify for a Pell Grant, you must check out with your school student aid department whether your school is a participating institution

As the recipients of a Pell Grant, they do not have to repay the funds and they are able to use their funds at any of participating universities or colleges. Normally, the grants are distributed to the recipients based on their needs and the amount the grants are able to contribute to their education.

There is a list of questions which each applicant must provide:

o Your financial need,
o Your costs to attend school,
o Your status as a full-time or part-time student,
o Your plans to attend school for a full academic year or less.

For the past few years, Pell Grants have a maximum amount of contribution about $4000 every year. You will need to apply for the Pell Grant through your school. Upon receiving your application, your school will be able to tell you how much you can qualify for. At the same time, they will inform you when and how you will be able to receive the funds.

There are 3 ways you can receive the funds:

o Have the check sent to your school
o Have the check sent to you directly
o Or a combination of the two

If you qualify for the Pell Grant, you can take full advantage of this good opportunity. Nowadays, education is expensive. A chance to receive such a grant to help to cover the education costs can be a valuable resource.
